Grammar: Ring

James is the front desk attendant for a high security building. He’s answered when people have rung to get in at the front door. He’s seen them on the screen and he’s made the decision to let them in or not many times. He’s known when they were lying. Something hasn’t rung true when they spoke. Once, when a thief was trying to get in, James even heard a shot ring out through the intercom. The thief actually tried to shoot the door down or break the security system with his gun.

James hasn’t worried about this. If there was ever a problem he could ring the buzzer and six security men would come running. His biggest fear is when his boss rings him up to check on him. James likes his job, though. It is just right for him.
