Having lunch with friends is almost a ritual with Maurice. A few weeks ago while working on the docks, one of the cranes dropped a load near Maurice. It burst and the contents hit Maurice, knocking him into the water. At first he cried out in pain as his friends lifted him onto the dock, but when they tried to dry him off, he passed out from the pain. He had to fork over a lot of money in medical bills after that. He knows the man who made the mistake, and was so angry he couldn’t even talk to the man. Now every time he sees that man, he just looks right through him. He never has lunch with that man, of course.
