Jeff is holding his hands open in a gesture of appeal. A few years back he was flicking through a magazine and saw an advertisement for a university program. He applied to the program and was soon accepted. He was bound to do well, but he was also bound to have a confrontation with the authorities in the school. At the start he was looking forward to his new program. Soon after starting, however, he found the assignments piling up, and he had to stay up every night to get them done. Now he is appealing to the professors for an extension in his studies. He says he likes the program and can do and excellent job, but he needs more time.
