Wen Lei came to America several years ago. He had to learn many new things. He was telling an American student how his life was in those days. “I went to the English school everyday, but it was still difficult,” he said. “After school, I went on to the part time job I had. Then I went back to my apartment.” “Did you go out on Friday nights?” asked the young American. “No, because I was going through problems in my homework. I liked to get that done first. I went into the library to work because it was quiet and I could concentrate there. I usually went down into the basement of the library building. They had lots of study booths there. I stayed for several hours, but sometimes I went up to the cafeteria for a break. I had a coke then. That is what I did on Friday nights.” Wen Lei was quite a serious student.
