Episode Notes
Hi Les, how you doing?
I'm doing great there. How are you?
I'm doing wonderful. Um, that's a sun and a clock behind. Where are you right now?
I'm in my classroom.
Ah, different than usual. Eh,
well, when I'm teaching my classroom, I sit over there,
right?
You you can't see it. I'm not going to move the the um webcam. But the the deal is if I sit over there, I'm going to be back lit. You'll see a giant silhouette of me. Okay. Where do you where do you usually sit when we're doing these talks?
I think I change quite a bit. I've I've done a lot here
and I did I did one up now you're not going to believe this. I was sitting in my Oshi in my closet
time. Yep. Uh because I could control the sound there
like a little sound booth.
I wanted to say thank you very much for the um the sound absorbing tiles.
Oh. You're welcome. The uh what are they called? What are they called? Soundproofing tiles.
Soundproofing tiles is good. I love them. They're they are the cat's meow.
Oh, good. Good. Did you install them yet?
I put them all in. They're in my OI in my cup.
Okay. In your little sound booth.
Yeah, it's my sound booth for my audio, not for podcasts. Yeah,
for audio recording, listening uh and so on.
Listening practice. I'm going crazy with listening practice.
Oh, yeah. You love that. I assume
they they do actually. Yeah, they they they look forward to it and they they want more.
I uh I watched that video you posted the other day. Not you, but one of your students posted a video just a little introduction about herself and studying at your school and uh her English was excellent. Well done.
Yes. Thank you. Thank you very much.
Thanks for looking.
I want to get a few more. Yep.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, yeah, those soundproof tiles, um I mailed them and I I I'm not a big fan of post offices usually, but that's
that cost you a lot of money. Thank you.
It did not. No, that's what I was going to say. It's It's incredible. First off, I mean, I sent it like Monday, it arrived Tuesday or I sent it Tuesday, it arrived Wednesday, which is incredibly fast.
Yep.
Um, it was really easy. And, you know, it it it's something that I wasn't going to use because I bought I estimated how many I needed. I bought too many. Um, Not. I didn't buy too many. By my estimation, I was right. But what I I didn't understand how they work and how you can lay them out. And you don't need every square inch of every wall covered. So, I didn't really think about that too much.
Right. Right. Right.
So, I ended up with one pack of 12 left over for you. Um, and they I wasn't using them. So, $10 or a thousand yen to send it to you to be used is better than it sitting here not being used at all.
Oh, they're awesome. I'm so happy with them.
Yeah. Shipping costs less than than buying them so they're not wasted. You don't have to spend money. I don't have to waste an object. They get used. Everyone's happy. Win-win.
But about the the post office thing. Um yeah, it's just it's incredible. My mom in Canada has made a habit of sending birthday cards and things like two or three months in advance because Canada Post is always on strike and there's always such troubles. But
here in Japan, it's just incredible. I sent that Monday evening and you got it. You sent it
Tuesday. No,
you you must have sent it on Sunday.
No, post office's not open on Sunday. I sent it on Monday.
Okay. Okay. Then then I got it on Tuesday. My My son came to school with me. That's right. It was Tuesday.
Yeah.

starting to grow. I'm really excited.
I look forward to it.
