Fluidity in Life and Routine

How are you doing today ? I'm

doing OK . How are you ?

I am having a great day so far . Thank you very much . Um , however , uh , Just uh taking it easy today , taking it easy , relaxing , not doing much .

What are you up to ?

Well , um , I'm gonna be doing some work today . I'm gonna write a few blogs , I'm gonna record some stuff and starting about 4 o'clock I start teaching .

Mm . Where do you , uh , where do you get all this energy to do all this work all the time ? You seem to always just working hard .



Meditation . Meditation . I , I kid you not .



I would like to do that , but I have no idea how to start . What do you recommend ?

I , what do I recommend ? I recommend , go back to your life , choose all the episodes of your life . Relive them .

Close your eyes , face to the right . Breathe in , relive it , breathe out , relive it . Well , for about 15 minutes let's take a break .



Take a break . How often do you do meditation ? Every

day . I ? Uh , random times , whenever I have 15 minutes break , or if I , if it's my discretionary time where I'm free to do work or anything , sometimes , like a few days ago I felt a very , very strong need to do the meditation .

I could find the feeling right now . I stopped what I was doing . I meditated for 15 minutes .

I felt a lot better .

So sometimes you do it when you need to do it , and sometimes you do it just when you get the chance .

That's right , that's right . And these days I , I do a minimum 15 minutes every day , sometimes upwards of an hour and a half .

Wow , an hour and a half of that . That takes dedication . It takes dedication to , to , but I mean to keep doing it and and to to make it part of your routine .



Yeah , OK , let's see . I , I , I , I know what you're saying , and if I can respond , the 1st 3 years was really hard to make myself . Now , uh , it's kind of like exercise .

I , it's like a drug . I take it , I feel better . I want to do this .



And I , I assume you've made it part of your routine , so it's just , it's natural now . Well , you know , here

I try not to have a routine .

OK , but having a routine and having sort of natural rhythms and natural things you do is , is a different thing . Maybe it's not a set routine , but it's still a routine . You feel a certain way , you meditate , you have 5 minutes free time , you meditate .

You , you want to meditate , take the time .

That's right . I agree with you . Yeah , it's just not , um , it's not a set uh scheduled into my day routine .

It's not like every day at 12 o'clock I must , you know . Yeah , yeah , yeah ,

I get that . I get that .

Yeah , it's fluid , fluid . I try and keep my life as fluid as possible .

Well , uh , I'll try that .

Sorry , what's my what like ? Say that again .

What's your daily routine like ? Like , do you get up and take a shower in the morning ?

Uh , my daily routine . I always have a big drink of water first thing . OK .

Um , I wash my face . I stretch And I always have a cup of tea .

You have a cup of tea , OK .

And I read the newspaper , but reading the newspaper , I like to take my time . OK . Uh , so I don't read the newspaper if I don't have time , but I like to take 15 or 20 minutes , calm , quiet , slow , read the newspaper , drink my tea .

You do exercise . In the morning . No .

I don't have that as part of my routine . I do exercise similar to your meditation when I have time .

Right ?

Um , it's not a fixed thing , uh , when I have time I do it . Um , sometimes in the morning , but not always , especially not weekday mornings . I just don't have time .

But um ,

you like to go , you go , um , you go out and do sports , right ?

I play ice hockey once a week . I go hiking , I go cycling , but mostly I just live a healthy routine , healthy lifestyle . I don't have a car .

I walk or bike everywhere . You take the bike to work ? I ride my bicycle to work every day , all year round for the past 18 years .



OK , OK . Yeah . So you don't have a car and you don't take a train .



Very , very rarely . Um , depends on what I'm doing . If I have some other plans , if I'm going somewhere farther away after or before , but , um , Because my school is right beside a station , yeah , often , I'll still ride my bike to school , park at school , and take the train .

So even if I'm taking the train , I'm still , I'm still having a , a 4 kilometer bike ride each way .

OK , yes . I , I do . Yeah .

They make plans for the weekend .

Do I have plans this weekend ?

No , in general , do you like to make plans every weekend ?

Uh , No , I , I don't like to make plans at all , which , which , but of course things come up and I , I end up planning things . For example , I'm planning to go to Ioa this Sunday .

OK .

Which has nothing to do with you , but I will make the time to come and see you , and we'll have a cup of tea and a chat face to face . And I'm tired of this online stuff , so I will see you this weekend . OK ,
