Episode Notes
Good morning.
Oh.
How are you doing? I'm doing excellent, sir.
How are you doing? Well, I've got a few problems, but they're technical, aside from that life is hunky dory.
Excellent.
Yes, excellent.
Technical meaning uh internet meaning computers what? My internet, my Wi Fi connection, not not the Wi Fi, internet, yeah.
Well, hopefully we don't cut out here.
I think we should be on solid ground now.
So what's new with you? Um, not much.
You remember the, uh, the Lego event we did a few months back? I remember the Lego event.
So every year we get some new sets, uh, well, maybe we buy them at the event or, or around that time or we win them as prizes in different, uh, competitions, activities, games, and so on.
So, my son recently finished, uh, building this one.
It's pretty, pretty nice car.
I'd like to see it.
Holy, wow.
That is good.
Lego Technis.
Yes, this is technis.
Beautiful.
The wheels turn.
Yes.
And when you roll it, when you roll it, I don't know if you can see the the pistons here, the pistons go up and down.
Oh, nice, nice.
I can sort of see that, yeah.
Just go up and down.
It's pretty, uh, it's pretty awesome.
Nice.
Yeah.
You know, we always enjoy.
Hey.
I do too.
I enjoy putting those together, but those are often a set making 2 or 3 different versions.
Yeah.
Does that one make more than one version of the car? No, this is, so the ones you're thinking about are often called 3 in 1s, where you can make 3 sets with 1.
OK.
This particular one is, uh, I think it's like a collaboration with F1 and McLaren.
OK, yes.
So this is actually like a scale model of an actual car, I guess not F1, stock car.
OK, yup, yep.
I'm with you.
But it's, it's pretty skookum.
How long did it take to make that? Uh, he's, he's pretty good, and he's pretty fast.
He's made a lot now, but I'd say it probably still took about 2 to 3 hours.
OK.
Hey, that reminds me.
One day, I, I, I've still got a video of my son.
What we did was we got all the pieces for a Lego set, and we arranged them on the floor, big open in sets in groups.
Then we got smartphone, I, I got my smartphone camera, yeah, and I got a time lapse video of him building the Lego.
It was really cool.
Yeah, yeah, time lapse is awesome.
Do you remember what it was? What the what the set? Yeah, what was it? Mhm.
It was probably some Star Wars fighter.
Uh, spaceship.
It's interesting you should mention that cause the other one that uh he built recently.
Yeah.
Oh.
Yes.
And this X-wing pretty slick, and let me see if I can remember how to.
You would know, but the wings, oh, do I turn it? The wing, hold on, hold on, give me a sec.
Oh no, no, like this, yeah, yeah.
The wings open.
Yeah.
Like that.
Excellent.
Pretty cool.
You got a hold of.
Oh, OK, yeah.
Yeah, no, they stay open and then there's a, there's a switch on the top.
Yes.
Oh.
And it holds and then.
Snaps back.
It's snaps back, yeah.
And this one is orange cause it's Poe Damarin's shift from episode 8, I guess.
It's not one of the original series.
That's why it's orange.
OK, yes.
The front.
Front foot tucks up, the landing thing tucks up, yeah.
Yes.
That is really nice.
It's funny that you mentioned that because I bought an X-wing fighter for my son.
Yeah, it's a, yeah.
What color is it? Red, but red and white, but I can't remember.
This is all, he's 20 years old now.
I bought it when he was 7.
What's your point? Are you saying adults can't play with Lego? No, I'm saying, uh, I'm too busy to play with Lego, and I haven't touched it for about 10 years.
Right, right, right.
Yeah.
I think it's time for me to go play some Lego because, you know, the event we did is uh what's called AFOL.
Or A Fall, which is adult fans of Lego.
OK, yes.
Um, a huge, a huge, uh, Industry, a huge cottage industry in the world that that's quite popular and and so the event we did is actually intended for adults, although a lot of kids come.
OK.
So on that note, I'm gonna, I'm gonna go build some Lego right now.
Right on, I'm jealous.
I'm gonna go build some of my stuff too.
Excellent.
What are you going to build? I'm gonna build a test for my site, so I can see what works better.
Curriculum.
Nope, kind of, kind of related to that.
It's to build my business, which gets people to come more.
Yeah.
Which one people can respond to better? I want people to do more practice on my site, listening practice.
Yeah, OK.
Cool.
Well, good luck.
Take care.
See you next week.
Bye.
