Anime.

Are you an anime fan? Now, let's see, what is anime anime, as I take it as I understand is basically animation as it was conceived of in Japan.

Japanese took the word animation and they adapted it into the Japanese language and shortened it a bit from animation to anime.

And then they created their own animations which have a characteristic Japanese flair.

And you could say, hm, Japanese animation is animation anime, other countries do animations, but I wouldn't call it anime anime is truly a Japanese thing for me.

Now, I might be upsetting people or offending others people who aren't Japanese who are creators of what they consider anime.

Uh That's fine.

It's more of an opinion thing, but anime is something that's distinctly Japanese.

I really love Ghibli studios.

That's my favorite anime studio and they make great movies.

But after that, I have to confess, I'm not a big anime fan.

I, I just never got into it.

Don't feel bad if you're Japanese because there's a lot of things that I'm not really interested in that are non Japanese as well.

I'm just not interested in most sports, for instance.

Anyway, Japanese anime is a great way for non Japanese to learn the language Japanese and it's a great way for families to bond together.

I've heard my students tell me that they like to watch the anime at home with their family and a lot of the anime, cross generations, the grandmother and grandfather, mother and father and the Children themselves all can enjoy the same movie, the same animation and the same series.

It's a really cultural thing, isn't it? That's animation or anime?
