Bears.
Are bears really dangerous?
What do you think?
When I was a little boy, I went camping every summer with my family.
We didn't actually think bears were a big problem, naturally.
They're dangerous.
But if you take all the safety steps, you should be okay.
So we put our garbage in the bear proof garbage containers.
We also didn't go wandering around alone in the woods,
but actually out in the woods is probably a little bit safer in Canada because the dangerous bears are close to humans.
The bears back deep in the wilderness at least where I was were usually scared of humans.
But I've heard that in some places, brown bears are very, very dangerous
and can attack you and if you move up into the far north polar bears,
the big white ones are really dangerous.
In fact, they like to hunt humans.
So bears can be a big deal In America.
read that there were only four attacks in 15 years for one report,
But in northern Japan in Hokkaido there were nine attacks in 2021.
That's quite a big difference.
So it seems like saying bears are safe for bears are dangerous.
Really depends on what kind of bear it is and where you are,
if you're gonna be going out hiking or climbing or doing fun things in the wilderness.
I think it's a good idea to learn about the bears in that area
and learn how to stay safe with bears and let the bears have their place, too.
