Candles.
Do you have candles in your house? I have candles at my place and I've used candles off and on over the course of my life.
I remember when I was a boy, we had candles for Christmas.
Christmas candles were very, very special and important.
And then when I was about nine or 10 years old, candles became fashionable.
And then Christmas candles became more fashionable.
You could buy extremely beautiful candles for Christmas.
And we did and we brought them home and used them at Christmas.
When I was a little bit older, I went to Africa and then I used candles to light my house because we had no electricity for two years.
Candles are kind of hard to read by at night, but they give a beautiful light.
It's soft and it has a feeling that's different from electric light.
Have you ever made a candle? I think it's a little bit hard to make them.
But once you get the materials and the tools, it's not that hard.
It depends on whether you want to make a simple candle or a beautiful candle.
And then it depends on the kind of wax and that's another thing I discovered that the candle wax in Japan is special.
It's made from a special kind of tree and it's much higher quality than the standard industrial wax that we use in the West for our candles.
I'd like to buy some Japanese candles, but I hear they're very expensive and you can't buy them just anywhere.
So I'm not gonna get one soon.
But I use candles.
Even today I use candles in my meditation.
I find it really great to help me focus my attention, which is really what I want.
How about you? Do you have candles in your house? And do you use candles?
