Hi and welcome to the Les Perras podcast.

You're listening to episode 270 which is about diamond rings.

I was interested to learn about diamond rings a little bit because before I started this podcast, I thought, I don't actually know much about diamond rings.

I bought a diamond ring for my wife.

It was uh an engagement ring.

I went into Tokyo and we went to the diamond section.

I forget where it is now, but it was close to Ueno Station in, in Tokyo.

Anyway, they had some nice diamond ring shops and we bought a beautiful ring.

It was very simple.

However, when I went to look online today to research about diamond rings, I was shocked there wasn't much information, there was tons of sales pages.

There are so many businesses trying to sell diamond rings online now, I don't know about you, but it seems to me such a high value item.

I don't wanna buy that online.

I'd be really afraid if they sent me a fake diamond ring, you know, a diamond ring without a real diamond, but a fake diamond.

Number one, I can't tell the difference.

Number two, I can ask the guy in the shop.

Now, tell me what's the difference? Show me a fake, show me a real one.

I can have him teach me right then and there.

But if it comes in the mail or by delivery, I have no way of knowing myself if I'm being conned and I don't want to be conned.

Especially for a large amount of money.

Diamond rings are beautiful though.

Have you ever seen a diamond in the raw? They're not beautiful.

They're just, they look like a little chunk of rock and after they've been cut, they can look much more beautiful.

The cutting process is highly technical and you can make a diamond much more sparkly by cutting it the right way.

You have to be careful.

So you don't waste too much of the diamond, but I'm not too worried about that.

I'm, if you waste a little bit and make it 10 times more beautiful, that's the important thing for me.

If you're in the market for a diamond ring shop carefully, there's a lot of um cheap cons out there.

I'd be careful if I were you? Thanks for listening to this episode of the Les Perras podcast.
