I live in Japan and when I read the news,
expecially about corona virus I can see that wearing masks was controversial.
I can also see that it doesn't come into the news much anymore.
But here in my city of Ikoma, ost people are still wearing masks
when they go about their daily business.
They don't wear masks in their cars, and maybe 10 or 20 % don't wear masks outside
but I think it's about 80% of the people are still wearing their masks outside.
The Ministry said you don't need to wear the masks outside
especially if you have social distance but there's still a lot of people wearing their masks.
Inside I believe that most of those people don't actually think masks are necessary.
They are probably wearing the masks as a form of manners, caring for the people around them
because they know some people are still worried about getting corona virus
And if you get corona virus, it's still a bit of a problem because you have to tell people
and you have to take test, etc.
The Japanese people that I know and talk to mostly are worried about it very much,
or at least that's what they tell me
but they still wear the masks out of care and concern for the people around them.
I wonder how long people will continue wearing masks outside
even after the government says that you don't need to.
It will be interesting to find out.
