Perogies.

Do you know what a parody is? I don't know if my pronunciation is correct with respect to the original name of this food, but that's what we called it back home in Canada Perogies.

And everybody said they were Ukrainian food and they're wonderful.

When I first had Perogies, I didn't think much of them.

I didn't know how to eat them and they didn't have a lot of flavor.

It seemed a little bit bland.

They're kind of dumplings and you boil them, I suppose.

There's other ways to make them that I don't know about.

But when I bought them and read the instructions, it said boil them.

What I didn't know was after you boil them and put them on the plate, you can add all sorts of yummy things.

You could add butter or sour cream and then you could get bacon bits and Sprinkle them on top.

They're not exactly really healthy, I suppose, but they certainly were yummy and filling.

You'd get lots of energy and power from them.

These dumplings had potatoes in them or cheese in them or some other mix like that and you could eat them just about any time of the day I had them for lunch or dinner.

It was wonderful because you could buy frozen perogies.

That meant it was so easy to make them.

I never made a parody by hand.

I don't know how I suppose I could find the recipe and make them, but I don't want to bother with that.

Sadly, now I live in Japan and I can't find perogies.

Most people don't know what they are on top of that.

I can't find good sour cream.

That seems impossible to find.

And those two go hand in hand they're necessary.

So next time I go home I'm going to have Perogies.

What kind of food would you like to have that you haven't had for a long time?
