"Water pools.

That's a big topic.

I deliberately kept it big.

So there's lots of things I can say.

What is a water pool? Well, it's a pool with lots of water in it.

There are many shapes and sizes.

When I was a little boy, there was a small water pool.

It was about 10 centimeters deep.

Most of the time that had no water, we called it a paddling pool.

And if you uh in the winter you could drain the water and it was empty in the summer, it was mostly empty.

But from time to time they filled it and kids came and we splashed in the water.

It was great fun.

Then there's your regular swimming pool, which is a lot of fun too.

It usually has a deep end and a shallow end.

But some swimming pools are just shallow all the way when I say shallow.

I mean, like a meter, a meter and 10 centimeters deep.

It's good for swimming lane, swimming and some pools have a shallow end and a deep end.

But the more advanced pools, they have a shallow pool and then beside it, ad a diving tank which is deep.

And then there's the fancy pools I call these fancy because we don't have many in Canada, but I've seen lots in Japan.

These are the river pools.

It's a long snakelike pool and the water flows through it.

They've got jets pushing the water and the water pulls you along just like you were floating in a river.

Those are the most fun for just lolly gagging about and enjoying playing and splashing with your friends without working too hard.

But I find that the river pools are the most popular so they get crowded quickly and then it's not quite as much fun, I suppose.

If you were a child, it would be a lot of fun in a crowded pool because the people become like obstacles to you and they like moving in and out between the obstacles and chasing each other.

And then there's the wave pool, that's a big pool with one end where water gets pushed out regularly through a wave machine and in the best wave pools you can surf in them.

I've done that.

It's a lot of fun.

I didn't actually stand up but I did sort of body surfing with a little body board.

Lots of fun.

Go get in a water pool this summer.

It'll be fun."
